Recently spent some time trawling the White Pages for various people’s telephone numbers. Given the necessary spurt in my knowledge of New Zealand geography, I have to wonder if this is God further grounding me in NZ life for the future?
The strange thing about looking people up in the phone book here is that, with such a small population (4 million) anything close is usually a relative.
Most bizarre place-name (and New Zealand has a million of ‘em) would have to be discovering a road called ‘Colquhoun Street.’ That's pronounced "Col-hoon." Yep, they actually have a silent qu going on in the middle there!
