Choose life. (Deuteronomy 30:19)

Writer: Louise Simonson
Penciler: June Brigman

Having now moved to New York, super-powered kids Jack, Katie, Alex and Julie get mixed-up in the plight of a huge dragon being controlled by hoodlums. Spider-Man, Cloak and Dagger are also on the case, but the kids' biggest problem seems to be getting back home without their parents finding out that they have super-powers.

I've only just discovered Louise Simonson's writing, and I have to say I'm fairly impressed. Stories about children in adult situations all-too-often slip into endowing the characters with adult brains. Not here. Once the kids have freed the giant dragon, their long-term solution to its problems is to hide it in mom and dad's basement.

The conceit that their parents are ignorant of their powers must be a tough one to maintain. We're on issue #6 here, I wonder how long that situation lasted?

With thanks to Herschel
